I was blessed today with a link to Howard Kenney's "Between the Lines". In short order, I have fallen completely in love with this artist's sexy, velvety vocals. Why haven't I heard of him before? Where was I when this beautiful song first came out? As far as I'm concerned, this music is what happens when enormous talent is married to a gorgeous melody, relatable lyrics, a talented producer, lush orchestration, and has a dollop of superb guitar playing on top. Kenney can hold his own with past singers I still revere - Donny Hathaway, Luther Vandross, Al Jarreau - and singers of the present who can croon a good tune - Maxwell, Ne-Yo, Childish Gambino. Is he still performing? Is there any more recorded music to be had? They say, "If you don't know, you better ask somebody!" So tell me, music lovers out there. Where is Howard Kenney now?
